Scott Baxter
Scott Baxter became an advisor to the company in 2003. Mr. Baxter is a CDMA2000 network and RF performance consultant and trainer. Before starting his consulting practice in 1995, Mr. Baxter managed global RF engineering and performance support for Nortel. Prior to this he served as national RF engineering manager for Contel and for GTE/Contel. Mr. Baxter's career in the wireless industry began in 1987 with BellSouth Mobility, where he served as RF engineer and regional engineering manager.
Steven Blank
Mr. Blank has been an advisor to Core Mobility since its inception in October 2001. In addition to lecturing at U.C. Berkeley Haas School of Business, Mr. Blank currently serves on the boards of Macrovision (NASDQ:MVSN) and Immersion (NASDQ:IMMR). Mr. Blank was a co-founder of E.piphany, a provider of CRM software. Prior to E.piphany, Mr. Blank served as CEO of Rocket Science, a co-founder of Ardent Computers, Mips Computers and held senior management positions at SuperMac and at Convergent Technologies.
Bart Burstein
Bart Burstein became an advisor to the company in the fall of 2002. Currently, Mr. Burstein is a consultant to several Silicon Valley, Canadian and European startup companies. Previously he held the position of VP of Business Development for Nortel Networks, a role that resulted from the acquisition of Alteon WebSystems by Nortel in the Fall of 2000. Mr. Burstein was one of the original executives at Alteon, his fifth startup venture, where he led various sales and business development functions throughout the company's formative stages, growth, IPO and acquisition. During the course of his career, he has held positions in channel sales, international sales, marketing and engineering. Mr Burstein received executive training at the Wharton School and has a graduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan.
Mark Klopp
Mark is currently a partner with the Bell-Mason Group as an advisor to corporations. He is a board member of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) and serves as chairman of the advisory board for the Corporate Venture Group. Mark is also an active angel investor in medical technology ventures.
Mark was formerly Managing Director of Eastman Ventures, Eastman Chemical Company's corporate venture capital arm. Mark has extensive operating experience in international business management, sales and marketing. Prior to leading Eastman Ventures, Mark was the Assistant to Eastman's CEO and Chairman. He previously headed up the Coatings and Industrial Chemical businesses for Eastman in Europe, Middle East and Africa where he was located in The Hague, The Netherlands.
Mark earned a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA in Management from Roosevelt University.
Rich Rifredi
Mr. Rifredi became an advisor to the company in 2003. He has served as chief operating officer for Wheels of Zeus, Inc, Steve Wozniak's most recent business venture. Prior to wOz, Mr Rifredi was part of the founding team at Pixo, Inc, a developer of applications and platforms for mobile phones, which was acquired by Sun Microsystems in 2003. During his tenure at Pixo, Mr. Rifredi played a leading role in securing over $50M in funding and took over responsibilities for all OS development, sales and operations activities. The Pixo OS platform is included in the highly successful iPod from Apple Computer. Mr. Rifredi started his high tech career at Apple Computer, holding various R&D, marketing and finance positions over a nine-year tenure with the company. His last position at Apple was worldwide R&D product manager for Apple's award winning PowerBook products. Mr. Rifredi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Master of Business Administration from Santa Clara University.
